  • Commute

    Multiple taxi companies, as well as Uber and Bolt are available in Warsaw. You will find taxis right outside the airports, railway stations and most hotels. A trip from the Chopin Airport to the Conference Venue costs around 50-100 PLN (~10-20 EUR).

    Public transportation will be the most affordable way to commute.
    To get to the Conference Venue (Sofitel Warsaw Victoria Hotel):
    From Chopin Airport (WAW): catch a direct bus line 175 to PLAC PIŁSUDSKIEGO
    From Modlin Airport (WMI): catch a private bus line Flixbus to WARSZAWA METRO MŁOCINY, change to M1 subway line to ŚWIĘTOKRZYSKA station.
    From Warsaw Central Railway Station: catch direct bus lines: 128 or 175 to PLAC PIŁSUDSKIEGO

    To get from the Conference Venue to the dinner location (Forteca – Kręgliccy):
    Catch bus lines 178 or 503 from UNIWERSYTET to KONWIKTORSKA.

    Single fare ticket costs 4.40 PLN (~1 EUR) and can be purchased in the ticket machines on the bus or at the bus stop.

  • Climate

    On average, September weather in Warsaw is relatively sunny and warm. You can expect a temperature ranging from 9°C at night to 20°C during the daytime. In September, there are up to 8 rainy days and 10 hours of sunshine a day on average.

  • Currency

    The official currency in Poland is Polish Złoty (PLN). Current exchange rate: 1 PLN = 0.21 EUR = 0.22 USD. The majority of stores will accept Visa, Mastercard and American Express cards. Nonetheless, currency exchange shops can be widely found in the city, including ones at Chopin Airport (WAW), Modlin Airport (WMI), Central Railway Station and near the Conference venue.

  • Language

    Polish is the official spoken language, however, approximately 37% of the population speaks English to some degree. Hospitality employees and younger generations are reportedly most likely to know the language.
